CEO Andrew Schaap emphasized the project’s significance, stating: “Through this strategic expansion, Aligned not only reinforces its commitment to providing future-ready digital infrastructure in vital growth markets, but also directly catalyses billions of dollars in investment for the state of Ohio and the Coshocton County community.” He added: “We are proud to see this investment revitalise a critical legacy site. It lays a powerful foundation, drawing new industries, creating high-quality jobs, and unlocking significant future opportunities for Southeast Ohio.”
The development is expected to generate thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of permanent operational roles, contributing to local employment. Additionally, the project will increase tax revenues, supporting community services and infrastructure improvements in Coshocton County.
Aligned, which already operates two data center campuses in the Columbus area, confirmed that the first facility at Conesville has secured a major hyperscale customer, with operations slated to begin by mid-2026. This milestone underscores the company’s role in meeting the growing needs of technology-driven industries.
The company also committed to ongoing community engagement, focusing on initiatives in education and environmental sustainability. These efforts aim to ensure the project delivers long-term benefits to the region, fostering both economic and social development.
