Vestas has secured a multibrand service agreement in Brazil from Renova Energia for the maintenance of the 430MW Alto Sertao 3 wind complex in the Bahia region.

Under the terms of the deal, the Danish manufacturer will deliver a long-term service agreement (AOM 2000) for the operation and maintenance of 155 Alstom ECO 100, 110 and 122 turbines.

The contract is designed to ensure sustained performance through regular preventive maintenance of the asset over the next 10 years, the company said.

Alto Sertao 3 is composed of 24 wind farms.

Vestas Latin America president Eduardo Ricotta said: “Multibrand service deals demonstrate how Vestas can leverage our global footprint, market experience, broad service solutions and extensive supply chain to provide value for our customers throughout the wind park lifecycle - whether that is for service of Vestas turbines or third-party technology.”

“Now, under a Vestas service contract, we will be able to strengthen and optimise the projects’ energy production and provide long-term business certainty for Renova Energia.”

Renova Energia chief operating officer Ricardo Lira said: “Renova Energia is pleased to appoint Vestas as its long-term maintenance services provider for the 155 turbines at our Alto Sertao 3, Phase A complex.”

Meahwhile, in Argentina, Vestas has signed an agreement with Pampa Energia to supply turbines to the 81MW De la Bahia 2 wind farm in Argentina.

The project, which is close to Bahia Blanca city in the Province of Buenos Aires, is an extension of the De la Bahia project that has been in operation since 2019.

The wind complex’s combined capacity will reach a total of 187MW.

The order includes 18 V150-4.5MW turbines as well as a 20-year active output management 5000 service contract.

Delivery is planned for the third quarter of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.

Vestas and Pampa Energia have previously developed the 100MW Mario Cebreiro wind farm in the same region and in operation since 2018.
