The second project was said to be the largest awarded by the Czech Railway Administration.
The first contract covers a 10 km section between Nezamyslice and Kojetín on the Brno–P?erov railway line. STRABAG Rail, leading the project consortium, began work in May 2025, with completion scheduled for January 2029. The scope of the €110 million contract includes double tracking and increasing line speed to support high-speed trains.
One of the main components is the construction of a 744-meter twin-track tunnel near Něm?ice, using the open-cut excavation method. A new railway junction at Hruška will improve traffic flow, and two stations—Měrovice nad Hanou and Něm?ice nad Hanou—will be upgraded to barrier-free standards. Něm?ice nad Hanou will also feature a new bus terminal to enhance intermodal transport connections.
Additional infrastructure improvements include the installation of 2,300 meters of noise barriers and the construction of new railway bridges. The line will be equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS) and the Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway (GSM-R), ensuring enhanced operational safety and monitoring.
The second major project involves the modernisation of the ?eská T?ebová railway junction, encompassing 72 km of track, overhead lines, and 30 bridges. Recognized as the Czech Railway Administration's largest-ever tender, the project will support both passenger and freight traffic. The station’s platforms will be rebuilt with new canopies and a pedestrian overpass to improve passenger convenience.
Preparatory work is ongoing throughout 2025, including the setup of temporary signalling systems and construction of a new junction at Potok. Main construction at the passenger station is scheduled to begin in 2028, with overall project completion targeted for early 2032. A new connecting track in T?ebovice is also under development.

In June, STRABAG reported a 38.7% increase in order intake in its transportation infrastructure construction segment, reflecting strong market activity and continued demand for modern rail solutions.
