The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture has announced the temporary closure of all livestock markets across the country to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, a highly contagious viral infection affecting animals. The measure responds to the increased risk of disease transmission following the Eid al-Adha holiday, during which significant livestock trading and animal movement occur due to traditional practices involving animal purchases and slaughter.
