Groq has opened its first European data centre in Helsinki, Finland, in collaboration with Equinix, expanding its global AI inference network. The new facility enhances access for European users by reducing latency, improving response times, and strengthening data governance.

The Helsinki data centre provides reliable and secure connectivity, supporting the growing demand for AI infrastructure. It complements Groq’s existing data centres in the United States, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, which collectively process over 20 million tokens per second across the company’s global network.

The partnership with Equinix builds on an existing collaboration, including a data centre in Dallas, Texas. The Helsinki site leverages Finland’s sustainable energy policies, free cooling systems, and reliable power grid, making it an ideal location for AI infrastructure. This expansion supports businesses across Europe, particularly in the Nordics, where AI adoption is a priority.
