In addition to the wind projects, Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk announced that state-owned energy enterprises are preparing to launch another 400 megawatts of distributed gas generation capacity by the end of 2025. She noted that more than 1 gigawatt of similar capacity has already secured financing and is scheduled for construction by 2026. These distributed generation systems are designed to enhance energy resilience and stability across the country, providing flexible and localized power supply solutions.
At the recent Energy for Business event, Andriy Gerus, head of the parliamentary energy committee, stated that Ukraine plans to commission 1,000 megawatts of solar power capacity before the end of this year. He highlighted that both enterprises and households are actively participating in the expansion of solar energy generation, contributing to a growing shift toward renewable sources.
