The development was highlighted during a recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Deputy Chairman Batyr Amanov presented a progress report on measures to increase output across major fields and offshore platforms. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reviewed the update and directed continued modernization of the oil and gas complex, emphasizing the need to fully unlock the potential of promising fields such as Uzynada.
The newly completed wells are now delivering additional volumes of gas condensate directly into the national pipeline network. This integration has contributed to a marked increase in overall field production during 2025.
Located in the Esenguly district of Balkan Region, Uzynada was discovered in 2017. It features ultra-deep drilling operations, with well depths exceeding 7,150 metres—the deepest ever recorded in Turkmenistan. By mid-2025, daily crude oil and gas condensate output from the field had grown by 25 per cent compared with the same period in 2024.
Geological studies confirm substantial reserves at Uzynada, with estimated recoverable resources surpassing 12 million tonnes of oil and 3 billion cubic metres of natural gas. These figures underline the field’s importance to the country’s long-term energy strategy.
The ongoing success reflects sustained investment in advanced deep-drilling technologies and enhanced production techniques. Such efforts align with broader national objectives to strengthen the hydrocarbon sector, ensure stable domestic supply, and support export capabilities.
President Berdimuhamedov instructed relevant officials to maintain momentum in exploration and development activities, while accelerating infrastructure upgrades across the industry. The increased output from Uzynada is expected to provide further impetus to these goals, reinforcing Turkmenistan’s position as a key energy producer in the region. Continued progress at the field demonstrates the effectiveness of targeted technical improvements and strategic resource management in unlocking new production potential.
